COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAMS


The Mohawk Valley Frontiers Club sponsors or makes contributions to many community service projects designed to meet certain needs to the community.

 

2024 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Luncheon Jan. 15, 2024  @ 12:00 noon Hart's Hill Inn
An annual program given in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.


Watson Williams Elementary School

The club adopted this school. In support of the school, the club initiated a tutoring program and a student of the week program.


College Experience Program

An annual program in which high school students of Utica, Rome and nearby communities are given the opportunity to experience college life by visiting historically black and other colleges and universities.


Academic Recognition Program

Outstanding scholastic achievement is recognized with annual awards to selected area graduating high school seniors. Support to the Edward Bass Scholarship Fund for African-American students attending Utica College.


Newcomers Welcome

A program that provides a forum for newcomers to the community, to become acquainted with the Mohawk Valley Frontiers Club.


Senior Citizen Program (Utica and Rome)

An annual dinner in which senior citizens are the recipients of a thanksgiving dinner.


Junior Frontiers

A club formed to enhance leadership, scholarship, citizenship, and community neighborhood service skills in young people starting at the age of 10.


Annual Golf Benefit Tournament

Now in its 32nd year, the net proceeds from this fun-filled event are used to underwrite the youth services of the club.


Cooperative Sponsorship Programs: A Better Chance Program of Clinton, NY 

Supports minority students attending high school in the community.
